Maestro: A Bold and Integrated Urban Residence in Sao Paulo

Award-winning design by Simone Mantovani

The impressive stone facade, the floating structure, and the vertical garden entrance make Maestro a unique and integrated urban residence.

This 1,000 square meter urban residence, located in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil, stands out for its bold design and emphasis on space integration, comfort, and privacy. Designed by Simone Mantovani, Maestro showcases a harmonious blend of modernity, minimalism, and spatial integration.

The main block of the residence features an impressive stone facade, supported by a steel structure that creates a sense of balance. The facade, covered in natural stone of different sizes and weights, appears to float into the water, creating a stunning visual effect. The entrance is adorned with a vertical garden, offering a glimpse of the interior and unifying the independent blocks of the residence.

One of the defining features of Maestro is its emphasis on space integration and ample rooms. The social areas, which face the backyard garden and generous pool, provide a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. This concept not only promotes privacy throughout the residence but also integrates the entire house with its wide garden.

The meticulous selection of finishing materials adds to the unique character of Maestro. Plain white walls, natural stones, and natural wood create a clean and sophisticated aesthetic. The absence of door spots at pivot doors and glass walls further enhances the open house design, allowing for wide and unobstructed views. The living room, in particular, functions as a large covered terrace, seamlessly blending with the surrounding gardens.

Maestro is a testament to the philosophy of essentialism in architecture. By prioritizing space integration and creating integrated environments, the design promotes intense interaction and coexistence between individuals. This focus on human interaction and comfort has been key to the success of the project.

The construction of Maestro took approximately two years, following six months of meticulous planning and design. The project was recognized for its excellence and innovation, earning a Bronze A' Design Award in 2018. This prestigious award celebrates designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life.

Maestro is a true masterpiece, showcasing the talent and vision of Simone Mantovani. With its bold design, integrated spaces, and unique features, this urban residence sets a new standard for modern living in Sao Paulo.
